Car Design News will be reporting live – via Twitter – from the Vehicle Design MA Degree Show 2010 at the Royal College of Art (RCA) in London on the afternoon of Thursday, 24 June (after 13:00 GMT).  The CDN team will be attending the show and interviewing the RCA's student designers, researchers, tutors, alumni, automotive experts and other professionals in attendance from the design community. Nissan Versa Note (2014) [w/Gallery]

Nissan has unveiled its 2014 Versa Note at the 2013 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS). The new design aims to improve fuel economy through improved aerodynamics and has a drag coefficient of 0.298, achieved with the aid of Nissan's first Active Grille Shutter. The Versa Note, which uses the carmaker's global ‘V' platform, sits on a long wheelbase of 2,600mm and has short front and rear overhangs.

Mazda may revive the rotary as a hybrid car powerplant

Mazda Motor Corp. has given a new lease on life to its rotary engine in the form of a Mazda 2 hatchback reconfigured as an extended-range hybrid. The prototype runs as an electric vehicle, with an electric motor powering the wheels.
