Warren Golf & Country Club Classic & Supercar event this weekend
Wed, 01 May 2013There are plenty of supercar and classic car shows up and down the UK to keep petrolheads (and their families) fed with a regular dose of adrenalin and high-octane thrills, but it’s always nice to report on a new one, especially a new one that offers the promise of something worth making the effort for. The Warren Golf & Country Club, which nestles on the Warren Estate in Woodham Mortimer – far from the white stilettos and tangoed complexions of the more chavvy parts of Essex – has its first ever classic and supercar show event this Saturday (4th May 2013) and they’ve made a pretty good fist of putting an appealing array of goodies together. Max Chilton, a relatively new entrant in the F1 world, will be there together with his Marussia F1 car, as will be the entire Le Mans Jaguar XJR Team thanks to local specialists JD Classics.
One Lap of the Web: No limits Down Under, a busted F50 and cheap speed
Tue, 15 Oct 2013-- Autobahn enthusiasts can add a new no-limits destination to their drive routes: Australia's Northern Territory, where a stretch of the Stuart Highway will eliminate speed limits during a one-year trial. Just watch out for Wallabies. -- Who's afraid of a little ol' salvage title, especially when it comes to an ultrarare Ferrari F50 supercar?
Karim Habib to Head Exterior Design at BMW
Tue, 14 Dec 2010It was only a matter of time before we expected a talented designer to fill the position vacated by Anders Warming when he was promoted to the role of Design Director at Mini. News of that new appointment was revealed today and, as of March 2011, Karim Habib will become the new Head of Exteriors at BMW Design. No stranger to BMW Design, Habib comes back to the Munich-based carmaker after a two year absence, during which time he worked for rival German carmaker Mercedes-Benz.
