Provides comprehensive review of automobile including: Vital Statistics (top speed, acceleration performance, engine vitals, list price, etc…), Behind the Wheel driving impressions, Vehicle Dimensions, Development Milestones, Under the Skin engine and chassis review, Nose to Nose performance comparison to rival vehicles, etc, etc……Vivid Hi-Res photos and graphics makes for great all around reading. 4 panel/4 page sheet unfolds to 9” x 16” overall, suitable for framing. These are not regular manufacturer sales brochures made for the masses, but rather a highly detailed limited production specialized compilation previously only available by subscription. Jaguar XFR with supercharged V8 at the Detroit auto show
Fri, 09 Jan 2009Jaguar is expanding the XF range for the 2010 model year with the addition of the high-performance XFR which has been unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show Lurking under the hood is a supercharged version of Jaguar's new 5.0-liter direct-injection V8. For the XFR, this engine is rated at 510 hp and 461 pounds-feet of torque. That power is routed through a six-speed automatic transmission.
Brian Wilson on the Beach Boys' car songs
Mon, 11 May 2009Brian Wilson, the musical giant behind so much of the Beach Boys great music, sang at the Petersen gala in Los Angeles last week, and there were plenty of songs about cars and drag racing in the mix. "We're going to do a series of car songs because this place has a lot of cars," Wilson announced before leading his 10-piece band into "Little Deuce Coupe," "409," "All Summer Long" and "Shut Down." The band played to a packed house at the museum's annual fundraiser. Wilson's set was surely the most entertaining in the Petersen's 15 years of fundraising galas.
