This is a 1998 Mercury 40-HP 2-Stroke Outboard Motor.  It is a 3-cylinder, 2 stroke, 20" long shaft motor. It features electric start, power trim, oil injection, remote control operation, forward/neutral/reverse gear shift, and runs on an external gas tank.   Engine has been fully serviced with a new water pump, thermostat/housing, carburetors ultrasonically cleaned, spark plugs, thermostat, and gear oil.  Starts right up, pumps water great, idles good, and has great power for a 40-HP. Great motor for a Boston Whaler, Center Console, Bass Boat, or any other kind of boat. Stand and controls are not included.  3 blade aluminum propeller shown on outboard is included.

Shipping is to a business with a dock, or to local shipping terminal for pickup by buyer. Local pickup in RI is welcome. Insurance is non inclusive but highly recommended. Insurance is $45.00 and will cover for full purchase price.  Engine will be strapped to a pallet free of charge for shipping.

The state of Rhode Island does not register or title outboard motors, therefore this motor does not have a title. I can issue a bill of sale with the motor which is all you would need to obtain a new one should your state require titles.

The BMW i3 EV tops Sunday Times best Electric Cars list Just as they did with the new Range Rover last year, the Sunday Times has declared the new BMW i3 EV the pick of the bunch of electric and hybrid cars on sale in the UK, despite the i3 not yet arriving on UK roads. But there seems a good chance that the Sunday Times have got it right this time too, just as they did with the new Range Rover. The Sunday Times praised BMW for biding its time with the launch of their first electric and range-extender car (the next, the BMW i8 supercar, will arrive in 2014) and said the i3′s big appeal lies not in its cutting edge electric motor or battery technology – because there isn’t any – but in its appeal as a car even without its EV powertrain.
