Note to Buyer:  We are a transmission repair shop.  90% of the failures of these parts are due to an out of balance or bent driveshaft, bad universal joints on the driveshaft, driveline vibration, or the powertrain being misalligned.  Please make sure all of these things are correct so you do not have a repeat failure.  Also, when re-installing the driveshaft, pay particular attention to the yoke going into the transmission.  Use 3M scotchbrite to remove any surface rust and ensure the yoke is free of any deep groves.  Not doing this will also cause premature failure of the bushing and seal.

Toyota Prius T Spirit Review & Road Test (2010 / 2011)

Sun, 12 Dec 2010

We spend a week with the Toyota Prius There are many – us included – who thought it extremely unlikely that Toyota would ever want to send us any of their hybrid cars for review. Much less – in light of our oft stated dislike of the Prius and all the motoring piousness it represents – let us review the latest  Toyota Prius But it turns out that Toyota are a decent bunch of chaps who believe that their cars – even their hybrid cars – are capable of standing up to scrutiny, even with our well known antipathy to the whole hybrid direction. And let’s face it, so entrenched is the Prius as a ‘Planet Saver’ in the minds of many that even if we simply confirm our opinion after a week of playing it’s not really going to make much difference to Toyota.

McLaren MP4-12C gets the axe

Fri, 04 Apr 2014

Production of the McLaren 12C is dead. That's according to a letter sent by CEO Mike Flewitt to owners that read in part, “The final piece of news I wanted to share with you is regarding 12C production, which we have decided to cease in light of the success of 650S. The new car has been so well received since its unveiling at the Geneva motor show (we already have a six-month order bank), we will focus all our capacity at the McLaren Production Centre on 650S.” This represents a turnaround for the company that just a few days ago said the 650S would slot between the 12C and P1 in the lineup, and that both would continue.

Koenigsegg can take the P1, LaFerrari & Huayra with the Agera R

Sat, 16 Mar 2013

Koenigsegg believe that the Agera R has more than the measure of the new toys at Geneva – LaFerrari and McLaren P1 – and Pagani’s Huayra lap at Top Gear was a farce. But a car that was also at Geneva was the Koenigsegg Hundra, Koenigsegg’s one-off special to celebrate 100 Koenigseggs built since Christian von Koenigsegg started bolted his immense supercars together in a shed in Sweden a decade ago. So we thought it would be interesting to chat to Koenigsegg people – including Koenigsegg’s UK dealer Supervettura –  and get their thoughts on the new batch of supercars that could perhaps take some gloss off the offerings from Koenigsegg.
