Opel Adam going rallying
Wed, 21 Nov 2012Opel is adding a bit of rally credibility to the new Adam by taking it rallying with an Adam R2 rally car for a one-make cup. But perhaps GM Europe are hoping to inject a bit of performance credibility in to the uninspiring mechanical offerings the Adam currently offers with the revelation that they’re making a rally Adam prepared to basic R2 spec, which means a tweak or three from the standard production car. That means upgrades to the engine, suspension, brakes and gearbox to produce an Adam rally car that’s an affordable entry point for young drivers and Opel are aiming to compete in the ADAC Opel Rally cup with the Adam R2.
Imagining the Future: The Southern California Automotive Design Studio
Tue, 02 Dec 2008Southern California is home to more automotive design studios than anywhere else in the world, and to commemorate that relationship and celebrate Art Center College of Design's 60th Anniversary, the Petersen Automotive Museum is putting on a new permanent exhibition among its rolling time capsules and automotive memorabilia from Hollywood. The new design exhibition showcases the history of the local design community and its contribution to the world. Located in the ‘Streetscape' section of the Petersen Automotive Museum, the Car Design Studio is at the modern end of a realistic walk-through diorama of California's history as it relates to the automobile.
New Mustang hits the silver screen
Thu, 16 Jan 2014THE ALL-NEW Ford Mustang is following is ancestors onto the silver screen when it makes it film debut in Need for Speed, which is out on 14 March. Starring Aaron Paul, the film uses a bright red Mustang Fastback. The film’s director, Scott Waugh, said: ‘I chose the Mustang because it is a car that represents American culture and modern muscle cars.
