Raccoon chose a gloss laminated film to wrap the Ghost to make sure it looked as indistinguishable as possible from a bespoke paint job, and it worked. No one has noticed the pinks Rolls Royce doesn’t have a custom paint job and that’s down to Raccoon taking extreme care to carefully wrap not just the outside panels, but also stuff like door sills and any areas that might otherwise give the game away.

Hyundai has set up their LED screen in New York’s Times Square so passers-by can play a race game from an iPhone app. You’ve got to hand it to Hyundai – they certainly know how to raise awareness and hit the Zeitgeist. From the modern day equivalent of Lada and Yugo to a serious threat to car makers from Europe and Japan in less than a decade, it’s not just their cars that have come a long way – their PR has too.

The BMW-Toyota sports-car lash-up has been reported on for a couple of years now, but new information from a report in the U.K.'s Autocar sheds more light on the future of the BMW Z4 and what this year's Toyota FT-1 concept will ultimately herald. Like the current Z4, its predecessor and the Z3 before it, as well as every generation of Supra, the new platform will feature a front-mounted gasoline engine. From there, things look to be diverging wildly as technology marches forward.
