New Mercedes GL at New York Auto Show, Mercedes R Class dropped in USA
Wed, 21 Mar 2012Mercedes R Class - dropped in the USA Mercedes-Benz has confirmed that it will debut the new Mercedes GL at the New York Auto Show in April, and the R Class is being dropped from the US. The big Mercedes GL SUV has been around for a while now, and we’ve been expecting a facelift version to arrive for a while. But reports are now saying that the new GL won’t be a mild facelift but an all new model.

Thu, 30 Dec 2010Pagani C9 - the tease begins despite production problems As teasers for a new car go, the video tease at the bottom for the Zonda’s replacement – internal codename Pagani C9 – is about as obscure as anything we’ve had from any car maker. Although logically it’s only a step on from bizarre camera angles of minute detail, something we see regularly. This odd little video came across our radar yesterday when Harry Metcalfe – he of Evo founding fame – posted a link to a new website set up by an Italian web marketing company showing the video below.
Kia Soul EV revealed at the Chicago Motor Show
Thu, 06 Feb 2014The new Kia Soul EV (pictured) has been revealed in Chicago The Kia Soul EV is Kia’s first effort at a proper mass production EV, and if you’re looking for an electric car it does look promising. Due to go on sale later in 2014 in the US – initially in California, New York and Oregan because of their charging infrastructure – and, Kia promised, the UK and Europe later in 2014 or early 2015, the Soul EV offers a real world driving range of 80-100 miles from a recharge taking half an hour for 80 per cent on a rapid 50kW charger or up to 5 hours for a full recharge from a UK 240 volt supply. The range is helped by Kia’s third-generation regenerative braking system which manages to capture 12 per cent of the car’s kinetic energy, feeding it back in to the battery as electricity during braking and coasting, with four different regeneration modes.
