Alfa Romeo goes rear-drive; eight new cars by 2018 including 4C Cloverleaf
Tue, 06 May 2014By Damion Smy Motor Industry 06 May 2014 15:51 Alfa Romeo has confirmed the news first broken exclusively by CAR in July 2013: the Italian brand will make a dramatic shift from front-drive hatches like the Mito and Giulietta, and instead develop a new range of rear- and all-wheel sports saloons, SUVs and sports cars. Announced in Detroit at Fiat-Chrysler HQ, Alfa Romeo chief technology officer Harald Wester revealed the mantra for the brand includes pushing volumes up from 74,000 sales in 2013, to around 400,000 by 2018. Aston Martin wants the Le Mans title
Tue, 27 Jan 2009Aston Martin will challenge for the overall Le Mans Champion in 2009 Aston Martin won the overall title in 1959 – 50 years ago with the DBR1 driven by Caroll Shelby – and are aiming to bring the title back to the UK with the new car, which is based on the 2008 Charouz Racing System Lola, and powered by the same V12 engine seen in the title winning DBR9s of the last two years. The car will carry the famous Gulf Oil colours, and is being funded in partnership with Lola, Michelin, Koni and BBS. And this is a good time to pick to challenge for the title.
Mercedes-Benz reveals Vision Golf Car concept
Mon, 22 Jul 2013Mercedes-Benz has revealed a concept of what it bills as the “ultimate golf cart” as part of activities at this year's British Open at the Muirfield Golf Club in Scotland. The concept was created at Mercedes-Benz's advanced design studio in California using ideas submitted by golf fans in a competition held by the German car maker. The swoopy two-seater adopts a number of design cues from current Mercedes-Benz models along with a doorless, one-box profile to give it a contemporary appearance that transcends traditional golf cart design.
