Peugeot 208 R2 – it’s a rally prepared 208
Sat, 05 May 2012Peugeot 208 R2 - a rally prepared 208 The new Peugeot 208 is about to hit showrooms so Peugeot are delivering a bit of sporty fairy dust with the rally prepared Peugeot 208 R2. As we say every time we run a story on the new Peugeot 208 – there’s a lot riding on it for Peugeot. Korean Grand Prix Qualifying: Vettel on Pole for Red Bull
Sat, 05 Oct 2013Korean Grand Prix Qualifying: Vettel on Pole for Red Bull Sebastian Vettel may not the the most popular man in Formula One at the moment, especially after he claimed the reason his car was so good was that Red Bull worked whilst the rest of F1 played. But F1 isn’t a popularity contest, so Vettel’s arrogance – channelled in to his driving – sees him sitting in a commanding position, once again, in the drivers championship – 60 points clear of Fernando Alonso – as we go in to the Korean Grand Prix. And if this morning’s display is anything to go by, the only thing that will stop Vettel taking yet another drivers championship is mechanical failure.
VW Golf GTD (2009) first pictures
Fri, 27 Mar 2009By Chris Chilton First Official Pictures 27 March 2009 12:30 Volkswagen UK hasn’t even delivered its first new Golf GTi but is already showing us this: the GTD, its diesel alter ego. Powered by a 168bhp version of VW’s ubiquitous common rail 2.0-litre turbodiesel four it sprints to 62mph in just 8.1sec compared with 7.1sec for the 207bhp petrol GTi and its 136mph top speed falls 12mph short. But with 256lb ft of torque (the GTi makes do with 207lb ft) on hand, the diesel should have the upper hand in mid-range performance.
