Almost 34,000 people have now signed a petition on the Number 10 website urging the Government to ‘not reduce the national speed limit to 50mph.’ It’s become the second most popular petition on the site – ahead of similar bids to stop the Government raising university tuition fees and beaten only by one calling for Gordon Brown to resign as prime minister.Cutting the UK’s national speed limits from 60mph to 50mph: the backgroundBack in March 2009, plans were announced that the Government wanted to cut the national speed limit from 60mph to 50mph on single carriageways in rural areas. Because we’ve been hearing from lots of places – our sources and the sources of others – that Lexus are going to endow its GS with a serious amount of V8 grunt (actually, the last report we ran was that Lexus were giving the GS a V10) to take on the uber-exec expresses from the Germans (and the XFR) and create a Lexus GS-F.
Suzuki S-Cross Crossover Concept at Paris

We may still all be focussed more on the Olympics than the car world, but the Paris Motor Show is looming next month and the teases and announcement are starting to roll. This morning we had confirmation that the Jaguar F-Type will get its debut at Paris and now we have news of the Suzuki S-Cross Concept, a C-Segment Crossover come SUV which may be a replacement for the Suzuki SX4.
