600,000 speeders caught in a week
Fri, 13 Jun 2014POLICE across Europe have announced they stopped and dealt with 600,000 speeding drivers across the whole of Europe in a single week. The operation took place between 14-20 April this year and the results have been released now that all 29 countries involved have processed the cases. The operation was organised by the European Traffic Police Network (TISPOL) to tackle the problem of speeding and dangerous driving.

Obama vows to help rebuild industry to compete, win

In remarks to a joint session of Congress, Obama gave a sobering assessment of the nation's ills--mainly economic--but said: "We will rebuild, we will recover, and the United States of America will emerge stronger than before." About midway through the speech, the president said: "As for our auto industry, everyone recognizes that years of bad decision-making and a global recession have pushed our automakers to the brink. We should not, and will not, protect them from their own bad practices.
