Goodwood Festival of Speed gets a Phantom Coupe
Thu, 26 Mar 2009Tom Purves of Rolls Royce handing over a Phantom Coupe to Lord March for the Goodwood Festival of Speed [ad#ad-1] We brought you news of the launch details for the 2009 Goodwood Festival of Speed last week, and today it has been announced that Rolls Royce has lent the Goodwood Festival of Speed a Rolls Royce Phantom Coupe as the official Course Car for this year. Now a Phantom Coupe is not the first car you would think of as a course car. Bit too expensive and not exactly capable of massive feats of performance (although it is, at least intil the Silver Ghost arrives, the most ‘Sporty’ of the Rolls Royce models), but it fits the Goodwood event perfectly.

Just unveiled at the 2013 Detroit motor show, the concept's exterior styling has been updated (we first saw the NSX show car at the 2012 Detroit show) and Honda has now revealed a potential interior design for its new supercar too. But perhaps having now covered just about every variant they can think of, BMW has decided that now is the time to revive the car and get it in to production. Small Roadsters, in the vein of the old British open-topped 2 seater ( and its modern ‘Homage’ version – the MX-5) will, I’m sure, see something of a renaissance in the next few years as people start to turn away from big, profligate cars, but still seek some fun motoring.
