Abarth Fiat 500 Convertible confirmed. Punto Abarth coming?
Mon, 12 Oct 2009It looks like plans for an Abarth version of the 500C for 2010 are confrmed But a successful model is always going to spawn whatever variants a car maker can viably muster, so our report in July that we will see an Abarth version of the 500C in Spring 2010 – probably at the Geneva Motor Show – now seem to have been confirmed as ‘jokeforblog’ has published pictures of what seems to be a road-ready Abarth Convertible at Abarth’s facility. Now that will be a bunch of fun – and just in time for next Summer. Spy shot of the Abarth 500 Cabriolet It also now seems likely that Fiat are pushing ahead with a new Abarth version of the Punto.
Subaru BRZ Turbo to get 280bhp
Mon, 22 Oct 2012The much hoped for Subaru BRZ Turbo – the Subaru version of the Toyota GT86 – is set to arrive in 2014 with 280bhp. Last year we reported that a Subaru BRZ Turbo was in the planning (even though the official line was that the BRZ and GT86 would stick with natural aspiration) and now it looks like development is well advanced and the BRZ Turbo will arrive in 2014. Automotive News are reporting that Subaru are working hard on a turbocharged direct injection version of the BRZ with a single twin-scroll turbo they’ve developed in-house, as opposed to the port injection system currently used in the BTZ, which is a Toyota system.
2010 Ford Escape SUV to enhance safety technology
Tue, 10 Mar 2009When the 2010 Ford Escape hits showrooms this summer, it will offer an expanded list of safety technologies. Building upon the Escape's full five-star crash rating are Ford's new MyKey teen-safety system and an integrated spotter mirror. MyKey (standard on XLT and Limited models) allows owners to program the key to limit the Escape's top speed and audio volume.
