Offered here:  2 LUCAS HIGH SEALED BEAM HEADLIGHTS, LONG RANGE # 5712, MADE IN ENGLAND

I have no idea what these lights fit, from searching the internet some say they are for a Bentley, a Jaguar, MG, Aston or others. But I do not see anything on the box that states what they are for. Not sure of the age but they look vintage. The suggested price at the time for each light was $4.50.

The box reads: GENUINE LUCAS (CANADA) HIGH SEALED BEAM - LONG RANGE #5712 MKII, 12 VOLT 50 WATT H.I. DRIVING, BLUE STAR TESTED, ORDER NUMBER 5452 - 2973.

On the front of the headlight it reads: LUCAS SEALED BEAM MADE IN ENGLAND.

The back reads: REPLACE WITH LUCAS 2973 or 5712.

I have no clue what else to list about these, so please ask questions before bidding or buying. All items are sold as is, where is, no returns unless item received is not as described in this posting.

Concept Car of the Week: Chrysler Lamborghini Portofino (1987)

Fri, 20 Sep 2013

In 1987, Chrysler purchased the bankrupt Italian carmaker Lamborghini to add an exotic brand to its portfolio. In celebration of its acquisition, Chrysler announced it would unveil a futuristic concept car at the Frankfurt motor show bearing a unique logo with the Italian raging bull framed inside Chrysler's famous Pentastar. It was during an internal aerodynamic study that designer Kevin Verduyn drew the lines of a four-seater sedan concept called the Navajo.

GM Sale to Magna Cancelled

Wed, 04 Nov 2009

GM has cancelled the sale of Opel and Vauxhall to Magna It’s been fraught with problems from the start, but what fire-sale isn’t? The unions have been unimpressed with what Magna were offering. The EU has had a pout and a stomp about the sale.  Lord Mandy has said lots but done little.

Awesome video of Porsche engine teardown

Tue, 09 Jul 2013

If you’re considering tearing down the 3.2-liter air-cooled flat-six in your 1984-1989 Porsche 911 , this stop-motion video should help motivate you. Skipping past all the stuck fasteners, broken parts and most of the unpleasant discoveries you’ll encounter when pulling any old engine apart has a way of making a full teardown seem downright manageable. But, whether you have an old 911 or not, this video is mighty entertaining and definitely worth a look.
