Lamborghini Egoista revealed at Lamborghini’s 50th Anniversary celebrations UPDATED
Sun, 12 May 2013The Lamborghini Egoista (which translate as the Lamborghini ‘Selfish’) gets its name because it is designed as a single seater, purely for the pleasure of the driver. Designed by Walter De Silva, the Egoista sports dramatic styling that is said to be inspired by the Apache helicopter (and isn’t entirely successful – the Apache looks better) and extensively uses carbon fibre with a canopy that can be removed for real single-seat fresh air thrills. Power comes from the Gallardo’s 5.2 litre V10, although so far all Lamborghini has done is release a single photo of the Egoista (above), so we don’t yet know whether the Egoista will be a one-off special like the Aventador J, a short run at silly prices like the Veneno or just a concept that will never see the light of day again.
Ford names Freeman Thomas as Strategic Design Director

Thomas, 47, will become director of Strategic Design, reporting to Peter Horbury, executive director of Design, North America. Based in the company's Irvine, California studio, Thomas will lead advanced design teams in both California and Dearborn.
UK new car registrations: 20 months of growth
Thu, 07 Nov 2013The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) has once again increased its new car forecast for 2013. The news comes off the back of the 20th consecutive month of growth, with new car registrations up 4% in October. Last month’s total of 157,314 registrations brings the total to 1,952,238 in 2013 so far, leading the SMMT to up its forecast from 2.22 million to 2.25 million.
