They can be applied to other items not just Rv's. They can go onto boats but I am not sure that if they were under water if they would hold up. These can be applied either by just sticking them to the item (must be clean, dry and warm) or they can be applied with what they call a wet method. Volvo XC90 grabs IIHS Top Safety Pick+ on its way out
Thu, 07 Nov 2013The Volvo XC90 may be the oldest car in Volvo's lineup, with 2013 being the last year for the XC90 before it's replaced by an entirely new model, but it has just captured the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's Top Safety Pick+ award. The award is a relatively new title, requiring a car or truck to achieve "Acceptable" or "Good" ratings on each IIHS test. Crucial to the Volvo XC90's achievement of this award was its performance in the new small overlap front tests, which test how a vehicle behaves in an front offset crash with a stationary object at high speeds.
Audi reveals crossover concept for Beijing show (2014) first pictures

According to these first pictures, it’s essentially a four-door version of the Allroad Shooting Brake concept from Audi’s Detroit motor show stand, mixing TT style with Q5 attitude. Audi’s only released these design sketches so far, and not let on any powertrain details.
