Volvo halts production of Electric cars & question EU’s CO2 & EV targets

The Volvo C30 EV won't be going in to production Volvo has decided it will not put the C30 electric Car in to production and has called on the EU to address CO2 and EV targets. Just as many other car makers are doing, Volvo has had a small fleet of electric test cars plodding round the roads to see what they’reĀ capableĀ of in the real world, in Volvo’s case a fleet of electric C30s. But Volvo has decided that a production version of the C30 EV is a futile project and has revealed they will not be making a production version.

Rare foreign cars head to Carlisle this weekend

Every spring, Carlisle, Pa., (otherwise known as the Woodstock of the classic-car hobby, a title it now fully shares with Hershey) hosts a weekend event just for foreign cars. Last year, over 1,000 cars gathered in central Pennsylvania, with rare foreign machinery making its way from all over the lower 50 and parts of Canada. The longest-traveled cars we spotted last year wore British Columbia plates, which should give you a clue as to the event's following, though we're still unsure which cars we spent the longest time gawking at.

Australians Rod Wade and Michael Flanders will be making a second attempt to drive from New York to Los Angeles in less than 60 hours on Nov. 22, after their first attempt ended two weeks ago with their 1930 Ford Model A suffering a mechanical failure 38 hours into the trip. That effort began in the early morning hours of Oct.
