British Grand Prix (2012) RESULT

With Alonso on pole, two Red Bulls and Michael Schumacher’s Mercedes jus behind and rain likely, Silverstone 2012 could be interesting. Qualifying for the 2012 British Grand Prix was a shambles with more rain than the average July sees all month. Toyota Prius recalled for water-pump fix

Toyota is recalling about 650,000 units of the Prius hybrid for a problem with the coolant pump that could cause the engine to overheat. The recall covers 2004 to 2007 models of the Prius. More than half of the vehicles being recalled, 378,000, were sold in the United States.

Weather still causing commuter chaos

COMMUTERS had a miserable return to work today as bad weather continued to cause havoc to road travel. A number of major road routes were affected by flooding or by fallen trees, while one lane was closed on the M48 Severn Bridge due to strong winds and a section of the M77 in Glasgow was closed because of flooding. A landslip at Hawick on the Scottish Borders led to hold-ups on the A7, while a section of the A36 in Hampshire was closed due to a fallen tree and fallen power cables.
