Bruce Meyers, the Meyers Manx and 50 years of unfinished business

Wed, 14 May 2014

They left the staging area at 1 in the morning. The Manxter Dual Sport dune buggy was holding by faith alone -- it had been repaired over and over again, parts tied or taped together, seldom replaced; covered in the acrid dust of the desert, a dust that fills your lungs and face, a dust that worms its way into the cabin and across every surface. Volkswagen's New DSG Gearbox

Sat, 26 May 2007

By Ben Whitworth Motor Industry 26 May 2007 06:27 Volkswagen has unveiled its next-generation seven-speed DSG transmission - and as you’d expect, it’s lighter, smaller and more efficient. The new paddle-shift gearbox, codenamed DQ200, uses a pair of dry organic-bonded friction linings that don't require cooling in preference to the six-speed version’s twin wet clutches. The system also requires less power for the gear selection and clutch servo system, boosting fuel efficiency and powertrain performance.

Land Rover: A year of Range Rover Evoque production and 80,000 sales

Thu, 05 Jul 2012

Land Rover is celebrating a year of Range Rover Evoque production and sales of 80,000 Evoques. The Range Rover Evoque continues to astonish with its sales performance and a seemingly unquenchable thirst from buyers to grab as many as Land Rover can build, despite its distinctly premium price structure. But that’s because Land Rover has managed to be right on the Zeitgeist with the Evoque, which conspires to offer a properly premium feel in a smaller package with no loss of ability compared to the full size Range Rover, so even car buyers with deep pockets can feel they’re being sane when they scratch their car buying itch and yet have no real compromise in ability or image.
