Toyota conducted fix of Prius brakes but didn't notify drivers

Toyota Motor Corp., under fire from fresh quality complaints about its popular Prius hybrid, says it conducted a software fix to address reports of slipping brakes. But the world's biggest carmaker didn't notify customers at the time of the change. And it says it is still uncertain how to handle the thousands of Prius vehicles that were sold before the fix.

The new FIAT 500 has won the EuroCarBody 2007 award, the world's most prestigious prize for car bodies. The ninth edition of the Forum organised by Automotive Circle International was held in Bad Nauheim/Frankfurt from 16 to 18 October, attended by 600 experts in the development of the design, materials, processes and manufacture of car bodies. The EuroCarBody 2007 award highlights the mixture of "creativity and skill" that is necessary to develop an innovative, winning bodyshell.

The CDN-GM Interactive Design Contest is now open, so it's time to pick up your pencils, sketchbooks and tablets for the chance to win one of four three-month paid internships at one of GM's design studios.  Open to all full-time college or university students with at least one term left from across North America, this contest is a great chance to get noticed by one of the world's biggest carmakers and be used as a springboard for your car design career. You have until 1 November to submit your designs, but judges want to see your progress as well your final entry. They will be looking for proof of your thought process, project development and overall progress using customer and market research as well as inspiration and mood boards.
