Brand New JP Performance JP 5608 double roller timing chain set. This is the good one with an indexable gear, so you can actually install your camshaft in the right place. No more guessing by just going "dot to dot". Once you have your cam degreed, your engine can let the camshaft do its job as it was designed. This type of timing chain is a necessity for any kind of a performance build. It will also guarantee correct cam phasing on a stock rebuild. These engines respond well to every little bit of care when assembling them, a double roller chain is much more reliable and accurate than a cheap imported $20 stock replacement set.
These are brand new, top quality double roller chain & billet steel gear sets . It's almost a shame to hide something so great looking behind a timing chain cover. These are the exact same sets that Classic Inlines ( Part # JPP-200-DRC ) was selling for the Ford 200 (  170 CID ,  also fits the 144 CID ) straight six Ford engines. These engines can be found in Ford cars, including Falcons, Mustangs  etc.starting in the early 60's ..A 1965 Mustang is just one example of cars which used this engine .Maverick, Fairlane ,Granada and Ford Fairmont also had the straight six 200.
These dual roller chain sets feature billet gears with hardened teeth. The crank gear has nine key ways for adjusting cam timing in 2, 4, and 6 degree increments (advance or retard). They offer greater strength and reduced chain stretch over stock chains to maintain accurate cam timing, and offer less resistance which aids in decreasing oil temperatures and increasing HP.  They require no modifications to install and will fit under the existing stock timing chain cover without any clearance issues.

Note: In some cases you may need to eliminate the oil slinger (looks like a big washer) for adequate clearance, but this is OK. The oil slinger was used to sling oil away from the crankshaft seal in an effort to reduce oil leaks, however the oil slinger is no longer needed due to improvements in gasket technology. Free domestic shipping. other locations may pay actual fees.
Very limited quantity on hand, I had to buy all the inventory just so I could get one for myself. After this batch sells out there are no guarantees on future availability.

Driving the Chevy Volt isn't special, and that's good

Thu, 28 May 2009

We've had our first taste of the drive system under development for General Motors' pioneering Chevrolet Volt, piloting a test mule based on the Chevrolet Cruze at the company's Warren (Mich.) Technical Center, and it left us hungering for more. Yes, it's an electric car, but mostly, it's a car--one you could imagine driving every day without feeling as if you were engaged in a lab experiment. Frank Weber, vehicle line executive for the Volt, gets his nose out of joint if you call the drive system a hybrid.

Infiniti Emerg-e on the move at Goodwood FoS

Thu, 14 Jun 2012

The Infiniti Emerg-e range-extender supercar will be at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this month and tackle the hillclimb. We’re still not sure that Infiniti really know where they’re heading in the UK and Europe, but perhaps recent changes at Infiniti PR will help make things clearer? But one thing Infiniti are doing that makes real sense is the Infiniti Emerg-e range extender supercar we saw at Geneva in the Spring as a potential range-topper for the Infiniti range.

Two cars dropped from Barrett-Jackson lineup at Scottsdale

Fri, 15 Jan 2010

The roster of cars at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, Ariz., next week has been cut by two. Barrett-Jackson has dropped a 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda recreation because the vehicle identification number on the car did not match the VIN on the title. A little legwork found that the car had been reported stolen in 1976.
