BMW M5 hits the beach at Pendine Sands (video)
Wed, 14 Dec 2011BMW M5 playing on Pendine Sands BMW has taken the new M5 to Pendine Sands in Wales to kick up some sand and promote the 2012 London Olympics. Regular Top Gear watchers will be all too aware that Pendine Sands in Wales offers some spectacular driving prospects. Or at least it does if you have a couple of willing chaps with spades and a Range Rover ready to dig you out when you inevitably get stuck.
Aston Martin V12 Vantage ends & big changes afoot at Aston Martin
Sat, 04 May 2013Launched as a limited edition V12 Vantage in 2009, by 2010 Aston decided there was enough demand to make the V12 Vantage a proper part of Aston’s standard offerings, and since then it’s been the same. The V12 Vantage has also spawned a Roadster version (which, we think, stays in production – at least for now) and the slightly bonkers V12 Zagato, which conspired to look a bit too extreme for an Aston and cost an arm and a leg. We know that AM sold around 1200 V12 Vantage Coupes, around 100 V12 Vantage Roadsters and a handful of V12 Zagatos, but now the run is at an end and we do wonder if there will be a replacement?
McLaren P1 Concept is 97% production design (video)
Wed, 26 Dec 2012At a private reveal of the new McLaren P1 Supercar in New York, McLaren has confirmed that 97 per cent of the P1′s styling will remain. McLaren has said that 97 per cent of the styling of the P1 Concept is exactly as the production version will look, with the only changes being some vents in the bumper to let hot air out and a tighter mesh on the grill at the back. The fac t that the P1 will stay faithful to the concept’s design already seemed evident after we had spy photos of the P1 visiting a McLaren supplier in Norfolk recently (and spy video of the P1 too), where we struggled to find anything different from the concept cars.
