New Lexus IS 300h, LF-LC and Lexus F-Sport all at 2013 Geneva Motor Show

Fri, 01 Feb 2013

We’ll get to see the new Lexus IS 300h at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show together with an Opal Blue LF-CC and extended F Sport range. Probably of most interest – because we’ve not seen it in Europe yet, is the new Lexus IS 300h, the hybrid version of the 2013 Lexus IS – revealed at Detroit last month – which Lexus hope will pick up sales from the diesel competition. Lexus will be adding the F Sport trim to the IS 300h too to show that their cars can look as dynamic as those from Audi’s S Line, Mercedes’ AMG or BMW’s M Sport which, with an expected output of around 220bhp from the electric motor and 2.5 litre engine, isn’t all that incongruous.

Sixty years later and half a country away, the Petersen will honor America's fiberglass wonder within its halls on Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles, with a weekend of activities. On Friday, March 1st, Corvette fans will get to pose for photos next to Kirk Bennion, the designer of the latest C7 Corvette, as part of a gala dinner with a live auction, speakers like tuner legend Reeves Callaway, and Corvette-themed cocktails.

Racing granny wished for more speed

Fri, 16 May 2014

A 102-year-old woman said she was disappointed racing great Mario Andretti could not go faster than 180mph during their laps around a speedway track in Indianapolis. Edith Pittenger, of Muncie, said she had a great time riding with Andretti in a two-seat race car. "He said 180 is the maximum," she told the Star Press.
