Selling a Cadillac Thermal camera as used on their UV2 night vision option.  This originally mounted behind the grille and fed an image of the road ahead to a Heads up display.  If you are a Cadillac owner, you know the replacement cost from the dealer is >$3000 for this item.  Tested and working.

These thermal cameras output their signal in a video format that can be interpreted by ordinary TV's with an RCA input.

These are exact photos of the item. Its serial number is 3327 and it was made 22 Feb, 2001.  I will upload a video showing it in operation to Youtube later this week, Right now my video recorder battery is dead.

I have soldered on an RCA cable so it will be ready to go out of the box, just ad a 12-14VDC power supply.  I will note the video cable is unshielded and makes the video image grainier than it would be if a shielded cable were used.

This particular camera was on a 2001 Cadillac and is the second version with the separately wired lens heater.  You are getting the mounting bracket and wiring connectors.  No other cameras on eBay offer these features.

The Bad:
The plastic is a little faded from the sun, but this does not affect the function in any way..

Warranty:
As this is an electrical item, there is no warranty.  I cannot control whether you mess up the polarity or otherwise cause a short circuit, so all sales are final.

I will not ship internationally.

Payment:
Payment must be received within 4 days.  With e-mail contact, I can push this out to 7 days, but if you don't respond to my invoice letting me know when you intend to pay, I will report you as a non-payer after 4 days.

Beaulieu Sets Its Sights On A World Record Attempt

Mon, 10 Feb 2014

IT MIGHT be best known for its collection of weird, wonderful and historically significant cars, but the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu is now reaching out to anyone with an interest in toy cars. As part of its bid to break the current world record for the longest line of toy cars, Beaulieu is asking for donations in order to topple the current record of 9,795, set in Guatemala last December. The attempt will be held in the grounds of the attraction with a continuous line, one kilometre long, of at least 10,000 cars placed end to end, starting and finishing inside the museum.

Car Mechanic Simulator 2014

Tue, 01 Jul 2014

Just to prove it really does take all sorts, you can in fact actually buy a Car Mechanic Simulator computer game. Which is out now as the 2014 version, no less. Fixing a real car when it breaks down is tiresome enough for most of us – choosing to repair one virtually in our own spare time sounds like the stuff that minds are boggled with.

2013 McLaren F1 – more details emerge

Sat, 14 May 2011

A render of the 2013 McLaren F1 / 799 (click for full size photo) It’s more than two years since we revealed that McLaren are planning on building a McLaren F1 road car for the 21st century. Planned to bring game-changing performance to the hypercar market, it will be McLaren’s halo car, sitting above the 458 Italia-bashing MP4-12C, and the yet-to-come McLaren which is aimed at the Porsche 911 and Audi R8. What exactly McLaren are planning with the new F1 – which may be called the McLaren 799 – is still hidden deep in the minds and computers of McLaren’s elite.
