Jaguar C-X16 concept scoops 'Design Concept of the Year' award

The Jaguar C-X16 concept car has won Design Concept Car of the Year at the 2012 Scottish Car of the Year Awards. The two-seater concept – which acted as a teaser for the recently revealed production F-Type model – was first seen last year at the Frankfurt motor show and was designed to indicate Jaguar's future design direction. Collecting the award was Ian Callum, Jaguar's Director of Design, who said, "With the C-X16 concept, we set out to move Jaguar's award-winning design language on to the next generation, creating a car that is the very essence of future Jaguar performance." Kia announces new concept to debut in Frankfurt

Kia will unveil a new B-segment concept at next month's Frankfurt motor show, following from the similarly sized recent Provo and CUB concepts. The unnamed concept, previewed in two renders, is said to feature a mix of contrasting materials inside the compact car and has been designed in Europe to suit European tastes and expectations. The interior render shows a one-piece seat base for driver and passenger, pierced by a pair of braces that support the IP.

Rural motorists pay price at pumps

RURAL MOTORISTS are beginning to feel petrol price pressure at the pumps again, according to the AA. Average UK petrol prices went back above 130p a litre at the end of April and continue to hover around that level. But the AA said that a war in which supermarkets have pitted vouchers against rock-bottom pump prices means the cheapest petrol in many big towns and cities is at year-lows of just under 126p.
