Kia Venga heading to Frankfurt

Kia are to reveal the Kia Venga - a mini MPV - at the Frankfurt Motor Show But now Kia has turned the No. 3 Concept in to a reality, and are launching the Kia Venga to the Frankfurt Motor Show next month (maybe they can get the Dutch dance band the Vengaboys to do the promo – boom, boom, boom?!). So the Toyota FT-EV II is exactly what Toyota believes the EV future is – a small, slow city car. Toyota say of the FT-EV – “… (its) design and technology look to a future society where EVs will be in common use, among a range of different means of transport that will reflect user requirements, the type of energy used and the local energy supply infrastructure”.

The way Peter Schreyer sees it, there is one key difference between European and Korean automakers: Europeans design from the heart, Koreans from the head. "In a European company, everybody is a car driver, a car enthusiast," says the Germany-born design chief of Kia Motors Corp. "Everybody from the CEO to the little designer to people on the production line, they want to build cars they want to drive themselves." Koreans can be more market-oriented: "They look at the big picture, which markets to explore or conquer.
