Porsche Macan makes Harrods debut
Thu, 16 Jan 2014THE PORSCHE Macan has been given its first public UK appearance – as the star of a Harrods window display. The world-famous department store in London’s Knightsbridge is playing host to the Macan, the 911 Turbo S, the Panamera S E-Hybrid and a scale model of the amazing 918 Spyder hybrid hypercar. Between 10am and 8pm daily, the public will be able to get up close and personal with each of the distinctive displays, two months before the Macan’s official arrival in British Porsche Centres.

Thu, 25 Sep 2014Wired has just published a series of short articles entitled 13 Lessons for Design's New Golden Age. While there are some interesting examples cited in the piece, the concluding article, ‘Why Getting It Wrong Is the Future of Design' by the former creative director of Wired magazine, Scott Dadich, feels like it has particular resonance for car design. Dadich's Wrong Theory uses disruptive examples from the world of art, plus his own experience of working at Wired, to explain how design goes through phases: establishing a direction, creating a set of rules that define that direction and finally someone who dares to break from that direction.
Jaguar designer creates personal car
Mon, 01 Sep 2014JAGUAR'S Director of Design Ian Callum has created a one-off car as his perfect idea of a Jaguar saloon car. The redesigned Mk2 is a classic saloon from the 1960s and has been restyled by Callum as part of an 18-month project to build his perfect car. Built by British restoration firm Classic Motor Cars, the Callum Mk2 retains the flowing lines of the original but they have been smoothed off.
