The Jaguar E-Type Growler As you can’t have failed to notice, 2011 is the Jaguar E-Type’s 50th anniversary and Jaguar are busy making sure everyone knows it. From the original Geneva E-Type show car at this year’s Geneva Motor Show on through being an iconic part of this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, the E-Type will be everywhere. Which may have something to do with the inspiration – and timing - behind Swedish firm Visualtech’s plans to build an E-Type for the 21st century.

Autodesk Alias Scan Surfacing webinar takes place on 8 October

Autodesk has announced its latest webinar, which looks at the firm's Alias Scan Surfacing and Quick Surfacing software. The 45-minute webinar will take place on 8 October, and begins at 8am PDT in Los Angeles and 11am EDT in Detroit, which is 16:00 GMT in London and 17:00 CET in Munich. A 15-minute Q&A will follow the presentation.

The new tech - including gesture control, next-gen voice control and intelligent windscreens - was shown at an event in Whiteley, where Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) also announced details of its new four-cylinder engines.  So what should we expect from Jags and Landies of the future? Gesture control is the next big thing for Land Rovers and Jaguars say its engineers.
