Infiniti's new M and hybrids at Geneva motor show
Wed, 03 Mar 2010Infiniti, Nissan’s upmarket wing, can finally have a serious stab at the European luxury car market after launching its Renault-based turbodiesel V6. Its pleasingly idiosyncratic range of cars – ultra modern, finely crafted and mostly fun to drive – have been hamstrung in the showrooms by a range of V6 and V8 petrol engines which have been designed for customers in Los Angeles or Boston, not London or Berlin. Ford S-Max and Galaxy (2010) first official pictures
Tue, 15 Dec 2009Ford today whisks the covers off updated versions of the S-Max and Galaxy, fresh for launch in 2010. The MPV duo will be shown publicly for the first time at that most Eurocratic of motor shows, the 2010 Brussels expo. The facelifts may look mild, but Ford's European design boss Martin Smith says there are more than 1700 new parts, including sheet metal changes. He says the changes are designed to 'give them a fresh new look and more premium appeal.' Both MPVs gain fresh bonnets, grilles, facias and LED tail lights.
Porsche reveals Panamera Turbo S
Fri, 01 Nov 2013PORSCHE has taken the wraps off its new Panamera Turbo S, built for those who think the regular Turbo is neither fast nor exclusive enough. Prices will start at more than £131,000 for the car, which uses a twin-turbocharged 562bhp V8 petrol engine and four-wheel drive to catapult its two-tonne bulk to 62mph in just 3.8 seconds, on the way to a top speed of 192mph. Fuel economy is recorded as 27.7mpg on the European standard ‘combined cycle’ average, but drivers in the real world should expect around 20.
