Value-Added New Focus Keeps Asking Price In Check
Tue, 02 Sep 2014WITH the launch of Ford’s new Focus just around the corner, the Blue Oval firm has announced that prices will start from £13,995 - the same as today’s Focus, with top Titanium and Titanium X versions costing £100 less than the outgoing equivalents. The new Focus range retains a six-series line-up of Studio (from £13,995), Style (£16,795), Zetec (£18,295), Zetec S (£20,045), Titanium (£19,795) and Titanium X (£21,795). According to Ford, the new Focus builds on its reputation for technology, which since 2011 has featured automated parallel parking, Active City Stop low-speed collision avoidance, Traffic Sign Recognition to monitor and record road signs and Blind Spot Information System, as optional equipment.
Government To Call Time On Tax Disc
Thu, 05 Dec 2013THE HUMBLE tax disc is set to become a thing of the past, with Chancellor George Osborne planning to shake up the way we tax our vehicles as part of his Autumn Statement announcement. After more than 90 years affixed to British motorists' cars, the tax disc is to be scrapped and replaced with a modern electronic system. For the first time motorists will also be able to pay for their vehicle excise duty (VED) by monthly direct debit, although this will cost an extra 5%.

And the latest indication of that new direction is the very warm super saloon that is the Lexus LS TMG Edition, spotted lurking in a garage near the Nurburgring in between runs round the ‘Ring. The LS TMG Edition apparently sports a 5.0 litre V8 with 641bhp and 524lb/ft of torque, which will be enough to hit a 4.0 second 0-60mph and a top speed of around 200mph.
