2002 Ducati Monster 750 / M750 Voltage Regulator / Rectifier on 2040-parts.com
West Grove, Pennsylvania, US
Please read the description fully. I want zero misunderstandings. Parts will be described honestly and as wholly as possible.
Up for auction is a rectifier / voltage regulator from a parted-out 2002 Ducati Monster 750. Regulator is tested and known good.
To the best of my knowledge, this bike is the same as the 2001 Monster 750, but has fuel injection where the 2002 had carbs. It's also basically the same bike as the 2003 and up Ducati Monster 800. The bike had ~24,000 miles on it when disassembled. Specs on the 2002 version can be found at http://www.bikez.com/motorcycles/ducati_monster_750_ie_2002.php
The Monster was repainted a stock Vespa blue color after the previous owner dropped it (left side, scuffs can be seen on muffler) and marred up the stock, factory paint. As I understand, this was a near-zero MPH tip over when the rider stalled the bike getting under way (apparently she was a pretty new rider at the time). The lack of overall damage on the bike seems to support this claim. The previous owner installed the sliders to protect the new paint. There are some normal-use blemishes on the paint - normal wear and scratches.
The bike is in overall good condition, but was sporadically not running. I'm told it's a fairly common issue with the "safety relay" under the seat. It's being parted out, regardless. All features and functions on the bike work, and except where noted, all items are in very good shape. Please read each part's description carefully and bid accordingly.
I have a video showing the bike running from a cold start. Engine sounds good and runs well. Video can be found on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AEE5M65vpk0
Items will be individually boxed and any "combining of shipping" will be to throw any other boxed items into a larger box where applicable. I will not casually unbox and combine shipping. Please be prepared to pay per-item shipping. Items will be shipped in flat-rate USPS priority shipping boxes where possible. Larger, awkward or especially heavy items will be boxed and sent via UPS, and I'll be the one to make that determination; please don't ask me to ship the frame via USPS, for instance.
Please do not ask me to end auctions early unless you're making a serious offer and are willing to send payment immediately. I will only end auctions early after payment. I still have to pay listing fees, etc., and if you're asking me to end the auction you should expect my wanting some coverage on those costs.
Payment through Paypal is preferred, but I will happily take your personal check or other payment methods as long as you understand that shipping will be delayed until after the funds fully clear my bank. This is not negotiable. If you send me a fake form of payment, I'll happily let the authorities sort it out and I'll still have the part to sell.
I ship once or twice a week. It may take me a couple days to send the item(s). Please understand this up front. If you're going to give me negative marks for shipping because I took a few days to make it to the shipper, then please let me know up front that you need the item sooner. I'll be happy to accommodate you as best I can, but please understand I have a demanding day job and a family. On the upside, there are UPS and USPS near my office, so lunchtime runs are possible. Let's just make this easy and reasonable, ok?
I will not be shipping items internationally, at least not without some things settled up front:
- Do not ask me to give you an international shipping price before bidding. I don't have the time available to run to the shippers for each country and shipping code.
- Items will be packed in flat rate packages where possible/applicable.
- I will not be unpacking and repackaging for international shipping.
- Be prepared for whatever the shipping costs will be. I promise you I will not profit on the shipping; I'll charge you what I'm charged, plus any packing costs where applicable. But shipping costs are buyers' responsibility. Period.
- I will not lie on any customs forms. Be prepared for any import/vat/tax that you need to pay on your end. Items will be marked as "used motorcycle parts".

U.S. offers advance peek at 'cash for guzzlers' rules
Fri, 24 Jul 2009Dealers participating in the "cash for guzzlers" program must visit www.cars.gov to find a list of facilities that may qualify for scrapping vehicles and then make sure the company can crush or shred trade-ins, according to preliminary rules on the Web site. The government posted the rules today for the program, designed to lift U.S. light-vehicle sales from 27-year lows.
Mercedes E63 AMG Drifting at Brooklands
Wed, 14 Apr 2010The 525bhp Mercedes E63 AMG gets blatted round the Brooklands track in the video below When you produce a mid sized saloon car with a great big 6.2 litre V8 you can be pretty sure that when journalists get the chance to play they’re going to be a little exuberant with your car. So why not get in first? That seems to be Mercedes thinking with the video they’ve produced of the E63 AMG strutting its stuff at a soaking wet Brooklands track.
Honda petitioned to bring Civic Type-R Turbo stateside
Mon, 10 Mar 2014Change.org is a website that helps users make petitions. Taking a quick tour, we spot petitions to free prisoners, plenty of social justice-type petitions, and then there are the ones from car guys. We’re not saying the petition to “Bring the 2015 Honda Civic Type-R VTEC Turbo to North America” isn’t world-changing.
