New car registrations at five-year high September 2013
Sat, 05 Oct 2013New car registrations at five-year high September 2013 Despite the UK economy being in the doldrums for much of the past five years, new car registrations have recovered well ahead of the curve and still seem to be unstoppable. Tue, 15 Jul 2014A CHARITY worker has learned a pricey lesson after being fined £70 by a council for a seven-second stop on zig-zag lines outside a school. Joyce Sale was dropping off charity concert leaflets at the primary school when she was captured by a parking camera car operated by Birmingham City Council. She then received a council letter in the post with details of the penalty notice, working out at £10 for every second her car was stopped.
Ford sales show move away from diesel
Mon, 11 Aug 2014NEW CAR buyers are moving back towards petrol engines after years of diesel domination, if Ford’s latest sales figures are any guide. The company has revealed that its multi-award-winning 1.0-litre Ecoboost turbocharged petrol engine now powers one in every five cars sold in Europe, totalling 120,000 vehicles from January to the end of June. That figure is an increase from 104,000 1.0-litre Ecoboost-powered cars sold in the same period in 2013.
