BMW announces New York auto show lineup

Along with a handful of revised vehicles, the BMW X5 eDrive concept will be on stage showing off the latest technology in the company's goody bag. It uses the 1.4-litre TSI engine with turbo- and supercharging to liberate a stocky 178bhp – enough to make the Polo GTI into a proper little pocket rocket.The first hot Polo was the supercharged G40 of 1986, but that developed a relatively weedy 112bhp. The new 2010-spec Volkswagen Polo GTI is powerful enough to hit 62mph in 6.9sec and reach a 142mph V-max.
Tesla loses $38 million in third quarter
Wed, 06 Nov 2013Tesla Motors, Inc. posted a net loss of $38 million on $431 million in revenue during the third quarter -- a steeper loss on slightly higher revenue than in the second quarter. In the third quarter of 2012, when Tesla was just starting production of the Model S, the automaker lost $111 million on $50 million in revenue.
