Toyota recalls 6.58 million cars – 35,000 in the UK

    Wed, 09 Apr 2014

The Toyota Yaris (pictured) – one of the Toyotas recalled It seems Toyota has decided its dealer service centres aren’t busy enough, so it’s revealed a massive series of recalls for 6.58 million Toyota’s around the world – and 35,124 in the UK – to fix a raft of problems. The cars affected are the RAV4, Hilux, Yaris and Urban Cruiser models, and although no accidents or injuries have occurred as a result of the problems, Toyota are taking no chances. The Rav4 and Hilux models are being recalled to fix a spiral cable assembly in the airbag module where the shape and location of a retainer for the flexible flat cable could damage circuitry when the steering wheel is turned.

Toyota FT-86 II: The second coming of the Toyobaru FT-86

    Wed, 26 Jan 2011

Toyota FT-86 II Tease Just last week we finally got the first concrete news on the Subaru half of the Toyobura project that seems to have been bouncing around forever. Which made is believe that the whole Rear-Wheel Drive Sports Car Technology Concept designed to deliver an affordable, traditional-style rear-wheel drive sports car at a sensible price (when we first saw the Toyota FT-86 we were told around £17.5k ) was finally going to bear fruit.

Land Rover Range-e plug-in diesel hybrid grabs SMMT Award

    Wed, 23 Nov 2011

Land Rover Range-e wins SMMT Award Just like every other car maker in the world, Jaguar Land Rover are flirting with and developing hybrid powerplants to keep the government-targeted economy and CO2 levels in check, even though neither Jaguar or Land Rover are close to actually launching a hybrid. In fact, Jaguar recently said that 4WD was the next ambition for their cars – not hybrids – and we won’t see a hybrid from Land Rover until the next wave of Land Rover models start to hit the road in 2013. And even then, any hybrid powerplant is likely to be well after initial launch.
