The Renault Clio Gordini 200 Renault are moving on with their Gordini offerings, this time the Clio with the announcement that the Renaulsport Clio 200 gets the Gordini treatment – Blue with white stripes – and a near £2,000 price premium. Apart from the requisite paint job Renault has added gloss black to parts of the bumpers, shoved a set of white mirrors on and added some bespoke, 17″ alloys. Volkswagen Are Rally Champs For Second Year Running

ANOTHER year, another title – that’s the news from down under as Volkswagen has secured the World Rally Manufacturers’ Championship for the second year running after a clean sweep at the Rally Australia round. After a tense battle over the weekend, with Brit Kris Meeke leading for Citroen at one point, Volkswagen eventually took all three podium steps as Sebastien Ogier lead from teammate Jari-Matti Latvala with Andreas Mikkelsen coming in third. With only three rallies remaining this season, Volkswagen can no longer be caught at the top of the overall standings.

Monterey in a Mulsanne – a Bentley mission to Pebble Beach

After a ten-and-a-half-hour flight from London, the idea of steering headlong – and solo – into the early Los Angeles rush-hour traffic in a five-and-a-half-metre-long, left-hand drive Bentley Mulsanne (worth some £230,000 with extras) and on the other side of the road to which I am familiar, might seem a little daunting. But as soon as I sink into the super saloon’s big leather seats, Bluetooth my iPhone to stream some music via the Naim premium audio, turn up the air-conditioning and press the accelerator gently, all becomes well. LAX Airport may be my starting point but the final destination is the Monterey Peninsula towards San Francisco, some 400 miles northward, for the world-famous annual classic car show Pebble Beach.
