BRITAIN'S most senior police officer broke off from a radio interview to make an arrest in north London. Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe jumped into a police car to pursue a suspect after the driver complained his passengers refused to pay the fare and had stolen cash from him, the BBC reported. However, the European Car of the Year organisation expects the list of nominees to expand even further, before motoring journalist from across Europe vote in September 2009 to cull the entrants and create a seven-car shortlist. The overall winner will then be announced at the end of the year.
