Renault’s first proper 4x4 is here. After the disappointment of Scenics clad in black 'off-road' plastic, we finally have the Koleos SUV, unveiled today. It's the fruit of a surprisingly mixed relationship: Renault did the design, Nissan developed it and it’ll be built in the Renault Samsung plant in Korea.

VW Golf R Cabriolet
The Volkswagen Golf R Cabriolet has been accidentally confirmed with an image from China’s patent office. At last year’s Worthersee Tour Volkswagen brought along a pair of Golf Cabriolets – the VW Golf GTI Cabriolet and the VW Golf R Cabriolet – signalling some proper performance from a drop-top Golf. At the time we commented that the Golf R Cabriolet would definitely be made, but by the time Volkswagen revealed the production version of the Golf GTI Cabriolet at Geneva in March we were moved to ask “What about the Golf R Cabriolet?”.

Lamborghini has unveiled the limited edition Gallardo LP550-2 Valentino Balboni, a new entry-level model, and its first rear-wheel drive supercar since the Diablo. The Italian supercar company has long promised that all its cars will resolutely remain four-wheel drive, but it’s building the two-wheel drive LP550-2 (hence the name) to celebrate its legendary test driver Valentino Balboni. Just 250 will be built.
