Toyota RAV4 EV (2012) - a Toyota/Tesla electric SUVTue, 08 May 2012The Toyota RAV4 has been turned into the only all-electric SUV on the market after a heart transplant from Tesla Motors. The RAV4 EV has been given batteries and drivetrain bits from the Silicon Valley start-up to turn Toyota's most popular SUV into an electric-only vehicle with a 100-mile range. Toyota RAV4 EV: how it works A massive 422kg of batteries provide the power for the RAV4 EV, mounted low down in the centre of the vehicle to improve weight distribution. Toyota says that despite the new powertrain, no compromises have been made on passenger space. Two driving modes offer a choice of speed or economy, Normal and Sport. Normal will send the RAV4 from 0-60mph in 8.6 seconds and on to a top speed of 85mph; Sport mode will take you there in 7.0sec and up to 100mph. Porsche 911 Turbo (2010) unveiledFri, 07 Aug 2009By Ben Pulman First Official Pictures 07 August 2009 10:14 This is Porsche’s new 911 Turbo, with an enlarged and twin-turbocharged engine producing more power, plus the option of a twin-clutch gearbox that features proper gearshift paddles. Unbelievably, it’s the first entirely new engine in the 35-year history of the Turbo. Essentially it’s the same direct-injection 3.8-litre flat-six that you’ll find in regular 911s, but now fitted with variable geometry twin turbos to give a healthy 493bhp, a 20bhp increase over the current car. Mercedes AMG GT (almost) revealedWed, 11 Jun 2014The Mercedes AMG GT revealed with green and black camouflage As we expected, Mercedes is drawing out the tease for the reeval of the new AMG GT – effectively a replacement for the SLS – and milking every detail for more column inches. We’ve had a full reveal of the S-Class inspired interior – a full reveal, not just a few detail shots – and we’ve also had a tease of the AMG GT on video with a few blurry glimpses of the new car dotted throughout. We’ve even had a variation on the tease them with a selection of engine noises – from idle to high revs – but now we get a real photo of the AMG GT, albeit covered in lurid green and black camouflage swirls. 2040Parts.com © 2012-2024.
