VW Amarok: Volkswagen pick-up comes to UK in 2011
Tue, 26 Oct 2010Volkswagen will launch the Amarok pick-up truck in the UK in spring 2011. It’s the first time since the 1980s that a VW pick-up has been sold in Britain. VW plans to sell just a couple of thousand Amaroks a year in the UK in a full year; the big markets for this truck are utility-centric markets such as Australia and both north and south America (the VW Amarok is built in Argentina).

The hot five-door runs the same 261bhp 2.0-litre TFSI engine found in the three-door S3, and of course the quattro four-wheel drive system is standard. The exterior cosmetic surgery brings the looks of the A3 Cabriolet to the rest of the range.

And now, as promised, Renault has revealed their first Alpine in almost twenty years in the A110-50, a car that has the underpinnings of the Megane Trophy and a body that seems to owe most of its DNA to the electric Renault DeZir Concept.
