VW BlueSport Concept moves nearer to reality
Mon, 19 Jan 2009We reported last week on the VW BlueSport Concept, a relatively economical 2 seat roadster, which VW unveiled at the Detroit Motor Show. We said then that if we were VW we’d be pressing the start button as soon as possible, and reports seem to indicate that that is exactly what VW are hoping to do. The secret to the success of the BlueSport will be the ability of the VW Group as a whole to find three platforms within its setup that can produce viable models based on the BlueSport Concept.
Jaguar XE Estate & Coupe “…a very difficult business case”
Mon, 13 Oct 2014It’ll be tough to extend the Jaguar XE Range in to an Estate & Coupe We’ve banged on for years about Jaguar extending their saloon car range (well, the XJ and XF as that’s all they had until the XE arrived) to coupes and estates, at the very least. We know, for example, that the Jaguar XJ Coupe has been on the drawing board for as long as the current XJ, but Jaguar has failed to build it. Similarly, there have been rumblings about an XF Coupe for years, but that has come to nought too, although Jaguar did finally manage to launch the XF Sportbrake Estate to extend the XF range a little.
Range Rover Evoque Convertible unveiled
Fri, 24 Feb 2012The Range Rover Evoque Convertible debuts at Geneva Land Rover has revealed the Range Rover Evoque Convertible, which will debut at Geneva. Land Rover say it’s a concept, but it looks like it’s heading for production. It may not be the world’s first SUV Convertible (that dubious honour goes the the Nissan Murano Convertible) but the Range Rover Evoque Convertible is certainly the world’s best looking SUV Convertible.
