Win a Jaguar XJ and help the NSPCC

Mon, 09 Nov 2009

Before anyone else in the world, how do you fancy owning the first ever new-generation Jaguar XJ? To coincide with the launch of its new XJ limo, Jaguar has teamed up with the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC), and hopes to raise £1m for the charity’s helplines by offering lottery tickets with the keys to the first XJ as the prize. Tickets cost £125 per entry, and along with the donation towards the NSPCC each entrant needs to answer three questions.

Hydrogen Fuel Cell Cars: The Japanese push

Sun, 16 Jan 2011

Honda Clarity Hydrogen Fuel Cell Car - already in the real world at $600 a month We make no secret of the fact that we consider Hybrid cars a stop-gap solution to reducing reliance on oil. And frankly, unless you drive like a saint you’ll probably find you get inferior performance and poorer fuel consumption out of regular hybrids than you would from a decent eco-diesel. Only when you start to put complex hybrid systems in high-end cars do you start to come up with something that does mitigate fuel use and improve performance.

Lotus sues Dany Bahar for £2.5 million

Sat, 01 Dec 2012

Lotus are suing ousted CEO Dany Bahar for £2.5 million to recover the cost of his expensive lifestyle billed to Lotus. It seems DBR-HiCom, new owners of Proton (which own Lotus), took one look at the mess in Hethel and dumped Bahar, replacing him with engineer Aslam Farikullah to try and re-focus Lotus on its core products and engineering instead of pursuing Bahar’s fantasy of churning out the biggest range of luxury supercars of any car maker on the planet. That ousting led to Bahar issuing proceedings against Lotus for £6.7 million in August for wrongful dismissal (which gives you some idea of Bahar’s estimate of his own worth).
