Car Design Awards China 2012 winners announced

The third annual Car Design Awards China competition came to an end earlier this evening as the winners of the 10 categories were announced along with the nomination for 2012 Student Designer of the Year - Xiao Hangjie, a student at Hunan University. The awards ceremony was held at the studios of CH-Auto in Beijing in the presence of an audience of renowned designers and judges from both domestic and international OEMs, with esteemed designer Chris Bangle acting as master of ceremonies. At the concluding judging session held in Beijing in March, one of the judges, Simon Loasby, Director of Design at VW China, said, "It was so difficult for us to decide on a winner, the entrants were so strong.

Volvo ES wagon completes new concept car trio (2014)

Called the Volvo ES Concept, it’s the third and final design study from Volvo’s new chief designer Thomas Ingenlath, who’s been pinched from Volvo rival VW to pen a sharp and sexy new range of Swedish metal to take on the dominant Germans. Goodwood Revival 2009 – Starts today

The Goodwood Revival this year concentrates on all things 'Mini'. This year’s theme is ‘Swinging Sixties’ which gives us the excuse to run the shot of the Mini-Skirted lovelies at the top. There will be a recreation of Carnaby Street from its sixties heyday, with Saturday being ‘Ladies Day’ with the encouragement to wear the shortest skirts possible (I think there should be a ‘Leg Judge’ to qualify the participants, though – I know, chauvinist pig).
