JLR announces £16.3m Evoque_e research project

Jaguar Land Rover has announced it will invest £16.3 million into an ‘Advanced Powertrain Research Project’ – which could lead to an electric Evoque_e version of its small SUV. Jaguar Land Rover will work in conjunction with British technology company and race car manufacturer Zytek Automotive to develop new hybrid and battery-electric vehicle technology. Winners of Kia 'My Style, My Design' Chinese design contest announced

The winners of Kia's ‘My Style, My Design' design competition have been announced at a ceremony at Beijing's Yue Art Museum. This second annual event saw the number of universities involved rise from 40 to 86 with over 500 projects submitted which the organizing committee whittled down to just 30 finalists. Shangdong Transportation College student Du Wenchang's 'Honglin' project was presented with the award for first place by Seon-Ho Youn, vice president of Kia Design Center.

Nissan has unveiled its 2014 Versa Note at the 2013 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS). The new design aims to improve fuel economy through improved aerodynamics and has a drag coefficient of 0.298, achieved with the aid of Nissan's first Active Grille Shutter. The Versa Note, which uses the carmaker's global ‘V' platform, sits on a long wheelbase of 2,600mm and has short front and rear overhangs.
