Detroit 3 set pace as March sales advance

UPDATED-U.S. light-vehicle sales -- led by strong pickup and crossover demand at Detroit's automakers -- rose 3 percent to 1.45 million units last month, slightly below forecasts but a positive signal the spring selling season is off to a solid start. But now Porsche say they have discovered the cause of the issue and have a fix – a new engine. The fault that caused the fires is as simple as faulty connecting rod fasteners which damaged the crankcase, so Porsche is in the process of building new engines for all 785 GT3s already made with new connecting rod fasteners.
