SHIFT KNOB NOT INCLUDED!  THIS AUCTION IS FOR THE BOOT RETAINER ONLY, which is a necessary item for anyone looking to put a classic Hurst knob on a 2005+ Mustang.  The stock knob has a groove at the bottom to hold the boot, but aftermarket knobs do not, and so you need this piece to make everything fit.  It acts BOTH AS JAM NUT for the knob AND AS A BOOT RETAINER for the leather console boot.  The hex shape at the bottom lets you tighten it with a wrench, and is large enough to avoid marring by the wrench.

  • This version is for models with the large leather knob as shown in the pic.  Your leather console boot should have ~1" opening.
  • In the future I will offer boot retainers to replace the OE round knobs as on the GT Premium w/ 401A premier trim, Boss 302, & GT500

Brand new custom boot retainer with M12 x 1.25 thread for manual transmission Mustang from 2005-2014 - stock or aftermarket shifters with stock threads.  Not all aftermarket shifters have stock threads; the buyer must determine compatibility.  Fits 5 or 6 speed, all models, even GT500, but not Shelby GT with Hurst shifter or Bullitt Mustang due to the smaller boot.  This retainer is custom machined, carefully designed to properly fit with the stock shifter and boot.  This is an exclusive Core Shifters item, designed, produced, and copyrighted by this seller.
