THIS IS A 6 CYL ,TWO STROKE , DIRECT FUEL INJECTED, OIL INJECTED OUTBOARD WITH POWER TRIM AND TILT. THESE HPDI MOTORS ARE EXTREMELY POWERFUL AND RELIABLE. THIS MOTOR WAS ACQUIRED LOCALLY. IT CAME INTO AS A RUNNING TRADE IN TOWARDS A NEW F300 YAMAHA. IT WAS ON A SEACRAFT AND IT HAS ONLY 523 HOURS. MECHANICALLY YOU COULDN'T ASK FOR MORE. COMPRESSION WAS AT 130-135 PER CYLINDER. EACH FIRES RIGHT UP, PUMPS GOOD WATER , IDLE CRISP AND SOUNDS EXCELLENT WHEN YOU RAP THE THROTTLE. COSMETICALLY IT LOOKS GREAT. THE PAINT WAS SUN FADED WERE FADED SO WE SHOT IT WITH TWO STAGE EPOXY AND APPLIED NEW DECALS. THE POWERHEAD IS VERY CLEAN AND THE OVERALL CONDITION OF THE MOTOR WILL MAKE THE NEW OWNER PROUD. Tue, 28 May 2013It seemed like a good idea: take the cost of batteries out of the cost of buying an electric car and instead charge EV owners to use ‘Battery Swap’ stations where depleted batteries could be swapped for fully charged ones in the time it takes to fill an ICE car with petrol. But it’s all gone a bit Pete Tong. Better Place – which partnered with Renault in 2009 to make the battery swap technology viable – has failed to find anyone to add to the $750 million already involved in the project and has filed for bankruptcy.

Now, it’s the clunkers turned in--and supposedly junked--as part of the federal Cars Allowance Rebate System “cash for clunkers” program. Following Hurricane Katrina, cars declared as total losses in one state were able to get clean titles in other states and were resold to unsuspecting consumers.
