First Sight: Smart Fortwo and Forfour
Mon, 21 Jul 2014"Dress-down Wednesday," remarked a colleague as Daimler CEO Dieter Zetsche walked on stage wearing jeans and no tie. While it was a hot day in Berlin, Zetsche's excuse for his informal attire was the occasion – the new Smart is here. Volkswagen Golf R 400 revealed – and it looks production ready
Sat, 19 Apr 2014The VW Golf R 400 (pictured) revealed ahead of Beijing A few days ago we had a teaser sketch for the VW Golf R 400, a 395 bhp version of the Golf R, which we assumed would be nothing more than yet another uber-powerful Golf Concept. But with underpinnings largely taken from the production Golf R, and a fully functioning interior, this Golf R 400 looks more production ready than any Golf Concept before. The Golf R 400 still uses the regular Golf R’s 2,0 litre Turbo, but VW has managed to squeeze an extra 99bhp and 52lb/ft of torque to produce supercar-rivalling performance of 0-62mph in 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 174mph.
Nissan recall due to faulty airbag sensors
Fri, 15 Mar 2013Nissan is recalling the Altima, Leaf, Pathfinder, Sentra and Infiniti JX35 vehicles from model year 2013 due to a problem with passenger airbag sensors. According to NHTSA, there's a chance the sensors within the passenger Occupant Detection System (ODS) were manufactured out of specification, which could keep the passenger airbags from deploying in a crash. Nissan will notify owners in April, and dealers will inspect affected vehicles, replacing faulty sensors at no charge to the customer.
