Frankfurt Motor Show 2009 Preview

The Frankfurt Motor Show 2009 runs from 17th -27th September to the public Many of the Japanese makers will be conspicuous by their absence, but that should be more than made up for by the launches from the big European makers. And of course the Koreans – in the guise of Hyundai and Kia – will do what they’re starting to do in the market place and fill the gap left by the Japanese. Video: Porsche previews the new 911

The lineup of debuts expected for this year's Frankfurt motor show include a redesign for the venerable Porsche 911. Now, Porsche has treated us to a little preview, courtesy of a video posted on its YouTube channel that chronicles some final validation and hot-weather testing of the next-generation 911 in Africa. You can catch glimpses of the new car's exterior and interior, as well as some driving footage.

With Alonso on pole and Vettel alongside – and rain in the air – is the 2012 German Grand Prix going to be Silverstone repeated? Qualifying for this year’s German Grand Prix in Hockenheim was a rather damp affair, with final qualifying run in a monsoon. A monsoon that saw Fernando Alonso put his Ferrari on a convincing pole with the Red Bull of Sebastian Vettel alongside.
