Fri, 16 Mar 2012Subaru on Friday officially launched production of the rear-drive BRZ sports coupe in its Gunma Main Plant factory in Japan. The plant also builds the Toyota version--which will be sold as the Scion FR-S in the United States--as the Toyota 86 in Japan and as the Toyota GT-86 in Europe. We expect the Subaru BRZ and the Scion FR-S to be in U.S.
Volkswagen give the VW XL1 Ducati power
Sun, 29 Sep 2013Volkswagen give the VW XL1 Ducati power It’s more than two years since Volkswagen rolled out the VW XL1 Super Efficient Vehicle as a demonstration of how light weight and low power can make for extremely economical motoring. But the silly mpg VW quoted for the XL1 – 313mpg – comes at a fairly horrible price, with the news at Geneva this year that the XL1 is heading for limited production, but with a price tag likely to be around £100k. Bit it seems that VW has found a new use for the XL1, and this time it’s not about extreme economy but more about real performance.
Infiniti, Red Bull considering performance cars - Ghosn
Mon, 25 Jul 2011Infiniti and Red Bull could go into business together developing go-faster performance cars, Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn has confirmed to CAR. 'Why not?,' he replied. 'I don’t think we can bank on it today, but when Nissan people and Red Bull people come together and ask what can we do better, what can we do more of, if something like this makes sense, then why not?
